Daily activity:
Thursday 07th: water temp 75.7 SW 9-13mph in the a.m. / 75.7 SW 8-14mph in the p.m. The water was clean. There was several King Mackerel bites this morning, but none hit the deck. A few Spanish Mackerel and lots of Hardtails. A couple of Pompano were landed early in the day. One King Mackerel was caught before 4:30. Brandon M. decked another King after I left at 4:30. Yesterday evening just before sunset Jackie K and another angler decked Kings. There was a bull Red Drum decked and released by a visiting angler about 4:40. He was using a Pompano rig with Cigar minnows. There were Cigar Minnows, Alewives, Spanish Sardine and Speedos available for live bait.


Friday: water temp 74.7 NNE 7-13mph in the a.m. / 74.7 WNW 4-6mph in the p.m. The water was clean. There were a few Spanish Mackerel caught in the very early morning. The afternoon was very slow with only a couple of Spanish Caught. There was live bait available - Speedos, Alewives and a few Cigar Minnows.
Saturday: water temp 74.1 ENE 6-10mph in the a.m. / 74.1 ESE 10-18mph in the p.m. The water was clean. There were a few Bonita and Spanish Mackerel caught. Live bait was available.
Sunday: water temp 73.8 NNE 5-7mph in the a.m. / 75.4 SSW 8-13mph wind in the p.m. The water was clear. There was a good run if small Bonita in the morning. Spanish Mackerel were caught from the first Tee out to the end of the pier. The afternoon Spanish bite was good with big fish like this one Landon caught. Large Squid were caught just outside of the first Tee. Live bait was available.
Monday: water temp 75.2 SSW 4-6mph in the a.m. / 76.6 W 5-6mph in the p.m. The water was clean. There were a couple of Pompano caught in the skinny water. A few Spanish Mackerel were decked off the end Tee and outer sandbar. A couple schools of Jack Crevalle came through, and Shawn J. was able to put one on the deck. The Hardtails came in thick in the afternoon and were chewing. A couple of small Kings were seen but no bites.
Tuesday: water temp 75.0 ENE 12-18mph in the a.m. / 74.3 NE 9-20mph in the p.m. The water was clean. One Bonita was decked and there were several King Mackerel bites in the morning, but none were caught. One “schoolie” King was caught by a visiting angler late in the afternoon. Spanish Mackerel, Ladyfish, bluefish, and a few Pompano were caught the remainder of the day. Brenda almost reached her limit. Lots of Hardtails were caught. Live bait was available.
Wednesday 13th: water temp 73.4 NNE 6-10mph in the a.m. / 7?.6 SSE 14-18mph in the p.m. The water was clean. It was a slow day. There were a few Spanish Mackerel, Pompano and Ladyfish caught. Hardtails were caught in numbers. A few schools of Tarpon came through traveling East but did not bite.
Red Tide status: In Northwest Florida over the past week, K. brevis was observed at background concentrations in one sample each from Escambia, Santa Rosa, and Bay counties.
